Back and neck pain
Education, manual therapy and exercise for neck pain, lower back pain and referred symptoms.
Neck symptoms can include stiffness, shoulder or arm pain, headache, facial or jaw pain and dizziness. Lower back symptoms can include pain on sitting, muscle spasm, numbness, pain across the lower back and pain referred into the leg.
Both can relate to disc degeneration, narrowing of the spinal canal, arthritis, muscle inflammation or nerve impingement. Evidence increasingly points to mental health, stress, sleep quality and sitting posture as contributing factors.
Treatment combines education, lifestyle modification, manual therapy — soft tissue massage and joint mobilisation — and exercise programs. Kwong has substantial experience in chronic lower back pain from radiculopathy and acute lower back pain in sporting populations.
