Rheumatoid arthritis management
Manual therapy, exercise and activity modification alongside your rheumatology care.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic autoimmune condition in which the immune system attacks the body's own tissues. Diagnosis is difficult and takes time — the rheumatoid factor blood test is not a gold-standard test, so diagnosis draws on family history, joint health, pain, function, imaging and progression.
Physiotherapy sits alongside medical management. Kwong previously worked at Arthritis ACT and has experience with systemic arthritis across all ages, providing manual therapy, exercise and activity modification.
1.9% of Australians had rheumatoid arthritis between 2017 and 2018 — 2.3% of females and 1.5% of males.
