How we work

How we track your progress

Where it matters, we measure — so you can see what has changed instead of relying on how it felt on the day.

Strength measured through the whole movement

Isokinetic testing records torque across the entire range of motion, where manual muscle testing is static and captures only the strongest part of it. That matters most after a knee injury, when a leg can feel ready well before it measures ready.

How isokinetic testing works

Programs with published evidence

The GLA:D® program for hip and knee osteoarthritis was developed by researchers in Denmark and follows a set protocol. Kwong is a registered GLA:D® physiotherapist and runs it alongside ongoing small-group classes.

GLA:D Australia reports an average pain reduction of 36% among program participants, alongside reduced analgesic use, a reduction in perceived need for surgery, and clinically meaningful improvement in joint confidence.

Decisions made with your doctor

Kwong works alongside sports doctors and orthopaedic surgeons on both operative and non-operative pathways. Where surgery is on the table, that call is made between you, your doctor and your physiotherapist together.

What we treat

Conditions we treat

Each condition has its own page covering what treatment involves and what the evidence says.

Your first visit

What happens at your first visit

Five steps, start to finish, so you know what you are walking into.

  1. 01

    Before you come

You do not need a referral to see a physiotherapist. Bring one only if you are claiming through Medicare EPC, DVA or workers compensation — those pathways each need their own paperwork. Bring any scans or imaging reports you already have.

  2. 02

    Assessment

We talk through your history and what you are trying to get back to, then assess movement, strength and the affected joints to work out what is driving the problem.

  3. 03

    Explanation

You get told what we found and what the options are, including where the evidence is mixed. Where surgery is on the table, that decision is made between you, your doctor and your physiotherapist together.

  4. 04

    Treatment and a plan

Treatment may include manual therapy, exercise prescription, load management or hydrotherapy. You leave with a plan you can follow, not just an appointment for next week.

  5. 05

    Measuring progress

Where it is useful — knee injuries in particular — objective strength testing gives a number to track against, rather than relying on how it feels on the day.

How you can pay

Bring the paperwork for whichever pathway applies to you and we will sort the claim at the appointment where the scheme allows it.
